Japanese Gardens Toowoomba

The Best Local Secrets in Toowoomba

Japanese Gardens USQ QLD

The Ju Raku En Japanese Garden is one Australia’s biggest Japanese landscapes. This 4.5-hectare garden is situated within the northern outskirts of the University of Southern Queensland.
Throughout the autumn season, you will appreciate a wonderful view of the Japanese maples that make the garden appear more vibrant and stunning than usual. During the spring season, you can admire the masses of lilac blossoms hanging from the garden’s Wisteria Pergola. This is the reason why this spot is one of the most popular wedding backdrops in town.
The garden is filled with natural wonders and is home to a magnificent waterfall, mountain stream, central lake, dry forest, and Azalea Hill. Its also home to all native Japanese and Australian vegetation. Just like most Japanese gardens, this also uses rocks to create 3D imagery. Professor Kinsaku Nakane from Kyoto was the one who meticulously crafted the placement of the rocks.
