Christmas at Emerge

About Emerge

Emerge has been cultivated in the mind of Jen Shaw since well before the founding date in 2016. With experience as an at-risk youth herself, she knows far too well how hard it can be to do it on your own, but with a helping hand, anything is possible. Jen Shaw is a local food personality turned Social entrepreneur; you could say she’s the Mother Teresa of the Darling Downs. With a community driven heart, she provides life changing opportunities to those in need. Emerge is run by a team of Change-Makers and Positivity Warriors, with a Non-Government and Non-Religious Community Mindset, they open their arms to all. They can provide work experience, mentorship programs and support for disengaged and at-risk youth within our community.

Christmas Season

This Christmas season, there are plenty of ways that you can give them a helping hand, here are just a few things they are up to.

  • The Emerge Number Board has been super popular this year and will be drawn just in time for Christmas! This is to help continue the work at Emerge and help young people who are homeless, at risk of homelessness and/or experiencing disadvantage through accommodation, employment, youth work support or crisis response. They are also paying forward $500 to help bring a Christmas wish true for Nikki Reeves a friend of Emerge who is raising funds to purchase an insulin pump. There will also be a $1000 prize for one lucky winner. Check out their Facebook page below to lock in your number on the board. https://www.facebook.com/emergetoowoomba
  • They are also throwing a Garage Sale to help kids who are getting life back on track through employment. This will be running from Wednesday 9th December to Saturday 12th December, Between the hours of 9am and 12pm. Head over to 104 Russell Street to check it out.
  • You can also help by donating funds, care packages, Christmas gifts and of course your Time. Head down to the café and grab your morning coffee, have lunch with a friend, or simply share their posts on Facebook. Every helping hand counts, as it takes a village to raise a child.
