How solar works?
A residential solar energy system uses solar panels to absorb the sun's energy and convert it into electricity for your household to use. This is fed through an inverter and converted to 240V AC to power your home. The amount of electricity you can produce depends on the number of panels as well as their efficiency, the size of the inverter and the amount of sunlight in your location. Your home remains connected to the power grid so that when you generate more electricity than you need, you can feed it back to the grid.
The cost of power is ever rising in Queensland and the best way to shield your family against the ever-increasing costs of energy is to install a grid-connect solar system. Solar is at its most affordable stage. With generous Solar Government Incentives currently available, there has never been a better time to switch to solar power.
Protect the Environment
Did you know that electricity generation is responsible for approximately 60% of Australia’s carbon emissions? Installing a grid-connect solar system for your home is the simplest and most effective way to significantly reduce your carbon emissions. By installing a 1.5kW solar system, the average household will cut their energy use by up to 40%. By installing solar in your home, you are doing your part to save the planet and provide a clean, green future for your children and your children’s children.
Increase the value of your home
Eco-friendly homes are valued higher on the property market as well as the demand for sustainable houses. In fact, new homes built in Queensland must now meet sustainability standards. From January 1, 2010, a sustainability declaration must be completed by the seller of any house, townhouse or unit to inform the buyers about the sustainability features of a property in four key areas: energy; water; access; and safety.
Discounts and incentives
The Solar Credits Scheme provides you with thousands of dollars of upfront discount off the purchase of a photovoltaic grid-connect solar systems through the value of Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs). The Solar Credits Scheme is available to residential, commercial and rental properties and is not means tested.
